The honoree is a figure whose career and contributions to the health field make us proud: Dip. Eleonor Martínez Gómez
In a regular session, the State Congress of Morelos, through the Health Committee chaired by Deputy Eleonor Martínez Gómez, presented the 2024 Medical Merit Award to Dr. José Arturo Miranda Nava on Wednesday, October 23, as part of the national celebration of Doctor’s Day.
In compliance with Decree 860, published in the Official Gazette “Tierra y Libertad” number 5479 on March 8, 2017, which established the award, this recognition was granted after evaluating professional training, continuous education, publications, teaching in health, and contributions to the training of medical professionals. The award consists of a diploma, a commemorative medal, and a financial incentive.
In her speech, the President of the Health Committee, Deputy Eleonor Martínez, highlighted the dedication and vocation of doctors, who “not only care for the body but also for the soul. In their hands, pain finds relief, illness can transform into hope, and, above all, patients find support and humanity in their most vulnerable moments. On behalf of everyone present, thank you for your tireless work.”
The legislator, mentioning Dr. José Arturo Miranda’s background, noted that the honoree is a figure whose career and contributions in the health field fill them with pride.
"As President of the Health Committee, I am committed to continuing to promote a legislative agenda that leads to the creation of public policies dignifying the medical profession, ensuring fair and safe conditions for healthcare professionals, and promoting research and development in such essential areas as regenerative medicine, a field in which Dr. Miranda Nava has excelled and expanded," she stated.
“To conclude, I want to thank once again all the doctors who face the challenges of the profession every day with courage and dedication. You are the backbone of a healthcare system that should serve society, and from this platform, I reaffirm my commitment to work to provide you with the tools, support, and recognition you deserve.”
Later, on behalf of the Government of Morelos, State Comptroller Secretary Alejandra Pani Barragán remarked that this recognition of Medical Merit reflects Dr. Miranda’s passion, effort, and tireless pursuit of new frontiers in healthcare.
She noted that the State Congress of Morelos and the State of Morelos itself take pride in honoring today a doctor who has not only changed lives but has also inspired future generations of healthcare professionals.
In addition to the award presented to Dr. Miranda Nava, the participation of other nominees was acknowledged, including Doctors Darío Celestino Mora, Alma Rosa Jaimes León, José Arturo Miranda Valle, María David Keyla Nogueda Vélez, Julio César Rosiles Domínguez, Alma Rosa Sepúlveda Gutiérrez, and Alejandro Vello Arellano.
Dr. José Arturo Miranda Nava is a graduate of the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos, where he received his degree on July 15, 1977. At 71 years old, his extensive education includes specialties in Anesthesiology, Aesthetics and Longevity, a Master’s degree in Regenerative Medicine and Cellular Therapy, and a postgraduate degree in Health Management International from the University of Birmingham, England. He has a long career in teaching and has published numerous works and books.
In thanking the Medical Merit Award 2024 Council that selected him as the winner, Dr. José Arturo Miranda emphasized the benefits of regenerative medicine research and application. He introduced Santi, one of his patients and a success story, who shared his experience with regenerative medicine.
